(2) Remove the intake (L) which is secured by four bolts. When these bolts are removed the intake (L) should be lifted vertically slowly, and great care should be taken that the air valve is either left in the carburetter body, or lifted away with the intake. This can be done by inserting the fingers beneath the air valve, as the intake is being removed. The valve (G); its extension (H) and guide should be carefully wiped out with clean cloth dipped in petrol, and the guide lubricated with a few drops of thin oil.

No oil should be used on the pistons valve or cylinder, and polishing paste or abrasives used to clean these parts. The utmost care must be taken not to bend or damage the depending needle valve (J).
