R.H. 335A (100 H) (X590. 6319) G 9868 X407 AXLES (Mercedes) Written by Mr Royce on March 7th 1912. Handed to T.C. on March 11th. Mr Royce said - This (the Mercedes) is a good specimen of a sufficiently strong axle and torque tube for the weight to be carried. Axle should be weighed and dismantled for examination as regards size of bevel, shape of teeth etc. The relative strength should also be obtained as far as possible by inspection and calculation. The criticism should be from a strength point of view. [Handwritten in left margin]: X837 [Faint watermark]: 1904 MADE AT CROXLEY | ||
