In reply, I can only say that I am surprised that Ward should raise any such point, as the Company did not undertake that he should complete the journey, and the Company was not in any way responsible for the accident, and if the journey resulted in a loss to him, it was his risk and not the Company's.

The best advice that I could give him is that he should pay up without further argument.
