in that it does not go directly from the condenser case to the chassis frame - in fact the only real useful portion of it is that which affects the IC branch, viz. that portion coming from the distributor case to the chassis frame, this having two good pressure contacts replacing one poor one. The other portion in the PC circuit is apparently of less value.

To make the 20 HP. earthing connection like the old 40/50, a flexible would have to be taken from the bottom of the condenser case to the chassis frame and then would not have to pass through the distributor case, via four pressure contacts. But on our most recent analysis of the case, it would appear more satisfactory to put on the one hand a soldered flexible from the contact breaker lever to the condenser case, and on the other, a soldered stiff wire connection from the insulated contact to the condenser top piece. This would still leave in the circuit the grip connection to the contact breaker screw and the two pressure connections inside the condenser.

Experimentally on our bench rig we have put on this flexible and soldered a wire connection direct from the condenser top piece to one face of a hexagon nut of the contact breaker screw itself.

We have pointed out, and this point is now being carefully watched, that the connection at the thread of the
