FFC/T14.3.29.

S.S. SEQUENCE STARTER GEAR.

CONDITIONS FOR CORRECT OPERATION.

(Applicable to motors with 18 S.W.G. teazer winding)

Note 1. The negative of the battery is earthed.

Supply of current at 11, 10 1/2, or 9 volts, as the case may be, (see below) is available.

(i) Via the push button switch.

(ii) At the fixed pillar of the main switch unit.

Note 2. It is to be considered that all the windings of this apparatus are at 45°C before judging that the conditions detailed below are satisfied.

Circuit 1. TEAZER (Red).

Current passes through push button switch, top contacts (with parallel carbon contacts) of auxiliary switch, then on to motor teazer winding, motor main field winding, finally through motor armature and thence to earth.

Motor armature turns slowly and moves longitudinally.

Representative figures of the resistances of this circuit at a temperature of 45°C are :-

Teazer winding . . . . . . . . . .620 ohm.
Main w field winding . . . . .0088 "
Armature winding and brushes . . . . . . . . .014 "
Total motor (teazer) . . . . .0643 "
Total motor (main) . . . . . .023 "
