completed the design for the rubber engine mounting. No
decision was come to as regards any further modification
to the 20 HP.

Whilst discussing the aero engine R.{Sir Henry Royce} agreed
that Rg.{Mr Rowledge} should go ahead with the design for automatic boost
control following the lines of the one we have rigged up
experimentally. The question of automatic control of
ignition was also agreed to for a certain engines. The
scheme Rg.{Mr Rowledge} had put forward for draining the volute on the
supercharger engines was also agreed to.

The question of noise in the reduction gear
was discussed and R.{Sir Henry Royce} has agreed that the design is to be
made on which the pinion is carried solid on the crankshaft
and not driven by a serrated driving shaft as at present.
This will necessitate major alterations.

In the meantime we should not produce any more
engines unless the serrated driving shaft is hardened. Special
arrangements will have to be made so that the parts can be
lapped together after hardening to get rid of the distortion.

Chromium plating was discussed. The blemishes
on 18-EX were shewn to R and he was of the opinion we should
still carry on experiments with Staybright.
