300b. S/W. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Continental P.III 39-EX. Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}8/KW14.7.38. Reference Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/R.23.6.38, I have had a further chat with Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} on this matter, and it was not his original intention to have this car rebuilt as a standard job. What was in his mind was that it should be rebuilt as it originally was, i.e. a light rather special chassis with a performance somewhat above that of the standard chassis. You will remember that we intended to offer this to Mr.Fairey, but decided it was unwise to do so for obvious reasons until some time next year. In the circumstances, therefore, we are agreeable to the chassis remaining in the Experimental Dept. We rather gather that its present condition is one of being in a dismantled state.
