| 3006 W/S. Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/R.23.6.38. CONTINENTAL P.III - 39-EX. With reference to Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}6/KW20.6.38., we have had no instructions with regard to handing this car over to the Repair Dept. On the contrary, we had a note from Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} - reference Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}18/E25.5.38. - in which he said he proposed to hold over the matter for a few months. We think it is a mistake to deal with this car in the same way as the Experimental P.III's that have been converted to standard, i.e., issue a specification and have the car in the Repair Dept. being re-built for three or four months. If it is going to be run with experimental parts we shall probably have something new that could be usefully fitted by the time the car is wanted. We suggest that, in view of Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s note, we are not expected to re-build the car for the time being. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
