X5600 BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M2. 7.31. C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 20/25. - DIAMOND ENGINE MOUNTING AND SIDE SPARE WHEEL CARRIER. X.5005 X.5600 Replying to HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/LID{A. J. Lidsey}6/MJ25631, we send herewith N. sch. 3300 shewing the proposed method of steadying the side wheel carrier. This is instead of the proposal to carry a stay from the top of the side wheel carrier directly to the dash, which is a disadvantage when the bonnet is carried any distance over the dashboard. It is thought that this proposal, if it is found adequate, will overcome this difficulty. We are not quite sure of the stiffness which is required, and have suggested that at first the stay should be made light, and out of existing brake pieces. It can be increased if it is found insufficient. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
