OBJECT OF TEST.
Condor 111.
To test the Calorized process (alum:) on Exhaust Pipes.
TESTER.
T. M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Warwick.
CONDITIONS.
Experimental Test Bench - Exhaust pipes fitted up on A.{Mr Adams}
side - Calorized. B. side not treated with anything -
both new. The long pipes are water-cooled only in each
case. Run on Condor 111.
SUMMARY OF TEST.
Since being fitted the Exhaust Pipes have run 188 hrs.,
and the calorised pipes are in a much better condition than the
others. On the side with the latter fitted we have had to
replace several of the short pipes owing to them being badly
scored and burnt, whereas on the calorized side, the short pipes
are still in excellent condition - no signs of either scaling
or burning showing as yet, either inside or out.
We will report further when the calorized pipes have perished.
Re. Pipes made in stainless etc. We have not yet
received any - we understand there are manufacturing difficultie
