Dear Sirs,

TRIM AND CARPET FASTENERS

We thank you for the samples of trim and carpet fasteners safely received. We have tried them out provisionally and think that they will be quite satisfactory in use. As you know, at present we are doing no car work, so that we are unable to give them an actual test.

The one disadvantage which we can see, and which we mentioned to Mr. Tolhurst, is that as it is necessary to pierce the metal floor of the body to receive the fasteners, there is always the liability of water entering the inside of the car. However, there will probably be several places in which the fasteners could be used, in positions in which this danger would not occur.

In the meantime we have filed the samples for reference against the time when we start car manufacture again.

Yours faithfully,
