Programme of Test Bed Work.

Further to memo - Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl{Len H. Swindell} 3/JH. 6.2.39.

No30 Bed.

B 80 No. 1 Unit.

Continue as previous programme with exception of items 5 and 6 which should not be carried out at present. During oil consumption runs, please check Blow by figures every 15 mins: When above are complete, remove unit and return to shop for dismantling and inspection.

B 80 No. 2 Unit.

New unit to be fitted on bed whilst No. 1 is in the shop.

1. Oil consumption and 'blow by' readings every 15 mins: over 2 hours run at 4000 RPM, repeat if over 2 pints per hour.
2. Open exhaust power
3. Generally tune up including.
(a) Carburation
(b) Idling and whether any overoiling.
(c) All leaks to be cured.
(d) Check gears for quiteness and whether any periods.

Pass off and give list of complaints so that the unit will be available for chassis if required.

B V.{VIENNA} No. 1 Unit.

Additional to completing tests as per previous programme, the following to be carried out before passing off.

1. Power loss, with single and duplex Bentley exhaust systems.
2. Blow by figures to be taken whilst oil consumption is being run.
