-2- This unit has been modified and overhauled for fitting into 3 B50 chassis, incorporates the following special features. Camshaft (Cast in Monikrome at R.R.) running direct in crank-case. Fabroil Camwheel. Raised crown Aerolite Pistons 6.6:1 Ratio P 452 pistons. Up to date Bentley induction system. Unit to be tested in preparation for fitting in 3 B 50 chassis. 1. Oil consumption at 4000 RPM for 1 hour checking 'blow by' repeat if in excess of 2 pints per hour. 2. Power curve open exhaust and with B II silencer. Check 'Blow by' by over speed range. 3. Governor characteristic should be correct, therefore, on TDC setting on Redline fuel with silencer, unit should be just clear of detonations. To ensure that this follows, check again power and detonations at 5° BTDC setting. 4. Particular note to be taken of gears, this being first unit with Monikrome camshaft and Fabroil gear. 5. Generally tune up for passing off for chassis. Wraith 111 No. 4 Unit. Unit being assembled for development of duplex induction system by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} No. 5 Test House. B 60. No 1 Unit. Unit to be returned to shop for dismantling and inspection, after 50 hours endurance. A report should be given regarding any failures and analysis of oil consumption, also petrol consumption and power output. B 60. No 3 Unit. Continue as per previous programme, but during oil consumption, 'Blow by' readings should be taken. Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} | ||
