To Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} 1263 PETROL PUMPS. The recurring trouble of petrol pumps sticking on the road is serious. The pumps now in production are marked G.5.S.C. signifying that they are fitted with G.5. oil silk diaphragms and pole pieces centred. This will we anticipate remove or greatly reduce pump failures from a mechanical point of view. To remedy existing pumps we are supplying a bush and end cutter to centralise the pole pieces, and suggest that replacement pumps in stock be so treated and marked G.5.S.C. being fitted with new brass rollers and G.5 oil silk diaphragms. Subsequently any car coming into the depot can have the pumps modified in this way. Each pump will require 22 brass locating rollers and two diaphragm assemblies. Suitable supplies of these should be obtained from the S.U. Co. either by the Depots individually or through you when these supplies are available. I will supply the cutters and instruct whoever is detailed for the job as to how it is to be carried out. I should be glad if you will let me know when you have supplies of parts required and I will make arrangements to visit Cricklewood and Kingsbury. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B.
