It was decided that the six brass Radiators required be made in our Works.

It was agreed that O.O. obtain 300 Radiators from outside whilst the Works make 100. O.O. should see to it that they deliver 15 new Radiators per week in accordance with the Output Chart, when the Works will supply 5 per week.

40/50HP CHASSIS.

Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} agreed that 50 sets of material could be ordered for "R" Series, 50% of which is to be for - Long Type chassis, and 50% " " " " " " " Short Type chassis, and O.O. could issue instructions to the Works for such material to be machined.

Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} mentioned that it was difficult to obtain Ball Bearings in small quantities and therefore suggested that whilst ordering 50 sets of material for "R" Series, the special Ball Bearings required for the Repair Department should be ordered at the same time, therefore Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} should prepare a list of the special Ball Bearings which he requires to enable O.O. to obtain same along with the 40/50HP material in question.

It was decided that 50 Radiators for "R" Series should be obtained from outside.

DIES FOR EXPERIMENTAL PARTS.

Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} laid down that as a general principle where experimental forgings are required, dies should be sunk, as this method is much more economical than producing forgings by hand. This matter arose through our Experimental Dept. having received hand-made Pivot forgings from Firths, which are made very badly, and he stated that the cost of machining these forgings would have paid for a set of new dies, which dies could have been used for producing forgings for production, if the design were passed. Coverley was instructed by Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} over the 'phone that he must not machine Firth's forgings as Sft.{Mr Swift} stated we would produce new dies in our Works.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} asked Sft.{Mr Swift} to look into this matter and see kk/the Works could make dies and produce new forgings. how soon
