Instructions for amateurs on the daily running, logging, and maintenance of the 7-Goshawk-II vehicle.

RUNNING OF 7-GOSHAWK-II BY AMATEURS. The following points on the car must be attended to:- 1. The Log Book must be filled up at the end of each day's run. 2. The mileage and route should be stated. 3. All petrol, oil and water put in the tank, and radiator must be entered in the Log. 4. Any tyres changed or repaired should be entered up, giving the number of the tyre which is taken off and the number of the one fitted. The number will be found moulded on the outside of the cover. 5. At the end of the day, any fault which is noticed in the running of the car, should be entered up. 6. Oil should be used on the engine - Vacuum BB, or Wakefields XL., or C. 7. Vacuum gear oil should be used for the Gear box, axle and chassis lubrication. 8. The amount of oil in the engine should be checked every day and filled up to the proper level as shown on the indicator on the exhaust side of the engine. 9. The car must be lubricated thoroughly all round every 1000 miles. The time for lubrication can be ascertained by reference to the Log Book. It must be entered up in the Log Book every time the car is lubricated. The following are lubrication points on the car :- 1 Lubricator on N.S. forward end of front spring. 1 " on O.S. " " 2 Lubricators on shackle at rear end of O.S. front spring. 2 " on shackle " " N.S. " 2 " on Cross steering tube. 2 " on Side steering tube. contd:- | ||
