All the above points are lubricated with the Enots Gun using thick gear oil. The screw plugs in the cap of N.S. and O.S. steering pivots should be removed and the cap should be filled up with gear oil from a syringe. The lubricator on the steering box should be filled up with gear oil from a syringe. There is a screw plug for the Brake Equalising Shaft which should be lubricated from a syringe. A spot of oil should be put on the clutch and brake pedal shafts. A spot of oil should be put on the cam for the battery ignition. Care must be taken that the cam is only just smeared with oil. Possible Adjustments. Foot brake adjustment. The first adjustment for the foot brake is the right and left-hand turn buckle on the rod from the brake pedal to the equalising shaft. This adjustment can be got at by lifting the front floor boards and it will be found on the driver's side. When all this adjustment has been taken up, it is necessary then to adjust the levers on the back axle. For this operation it is advisable to have the car over a pit. When it has been decided to alter the brake adjustment by means of the levers on the rear axle, the first operation is to unscrew the turn buckle on the rod between the pedal and the equalising shaft so that when the adjustment has been carried out at the back, the turn buckle can be used for any further adjustments. On each side of the rear axle will be found the levers for operating the actuating shaft which are connected by means of an adjustable rod to the levers which are operated by the brake ropes. contd:- | ||
