TOOLS FOR RUDGE WHITWORTH WHEELS.

R.12/HT.14.9.33.

Hammer. We have examined the sample hammer - LeC.3595. This is quite nice to handle; it is the same weight as the copper mallet we have used previously for Rudge Whitworth wheels, and we think that, in view of the troubles experienced due to wheels not being sufficiently tightened up, we must accept the fact that it is necessary to use a hammer of this weight.

We see no reason why this hammer should not be adopted.

Wheel Spanner.

We agree that the sample spanner submitted by Rudge Whitworth is entirely unsuitable. The spanner, to LeC.3572, is satisfactory, except that we think the handle can be modified slightly to prevent it being burred over and damaged quite so quickly by the use of the hammer. This has been discussed with 'E' who agrees that this modification can be carried out quite easily.
