Dear Sirs,

Ref: Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Smth.11/JH.

We beg to thank you for your letter of the 21st. inst. and are pleased to note that the disc up-to-date has proved satisfactory.

We think that if you have any feeling about the matter with regard to the moment of inertia of our plate being slightly higher than your's, this could be reduced somewhat by making the steel portion of the plate out of duraluminium. We have not had experience of the duraluminium plate, but see no objection to same, beyond the one point which would have to be watched and that is that the spring discs may tend to dig into the duraluminium.

No doubt, however, this could be accomodated and we look forward to hearing from you again when you have had an opportunity of testing the plate out further.

Yours faithfully,
p.p. NEWTON & BENNETT, LTD.
