Dear Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer},

I have just had a letter from Heron, and quote herewith a paragraph from it which concerns the recommendations he made to you for suitable valve material for the Bentley car:-

"I have just been discussing Stelliting Bentley valves with Jardine and he says that they have found that they cannot satisfactorily Stellite the straight chromium steels I discussed with Rolls. Will you, therefore, please get six blue prints of the Bentley valve as soon as possible and Jardine will make up valves of a low expansion steel which can be Stellited and leaving the finish machining to be carried out by Rolls."

This, I think, is self-explanatory, and if you will be good enough to send me the six blue prints he asks for, I will see that they are forwarded immediately.

With kind regards,

Yours sincerely,
F.R.Banks.
