MX.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/AD.11.7.31. GOS.4. Dr. A.E. Fison. With reference to Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}/WT14/KW30.6.31, we understand that this owner does not want the slow speed riding of his car altered. Under the circumstances it is rather difficult to recommend the cure which we have successfully employed on P.2s i.e. fitting stiff road springs. We suggest the following :- (1) A man should visit Dr. Fison with two side steering tube springs to F.54754 and two washers which will enable him to increase still further the directional stability of this tube. (2) He should also take a pair of front shock dampers with him set at 50/65 which can easily be fitted if (1) does not satisfy the owner. In neither (1) or (2) satisfies the owner we recommend raising the rear shock absorber loads to 60/80 and failing this giving satisfaction, the road springs will have to be changed.
