BENTLEY CHASSIS - RE: REPORT ON CHASSIS 6-B-1V.
(ref. RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/RH.{R. Hollingworth}1/AP.6.11.36)

In going through the above and coming to the servo motor on page 6, it appeared to me that something was wrong with our production details, but on reference to the parts I find that the servo on this job is a purely experimental one, drawings having been prepared by the Experimental Dept, the numbers being RS{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary}1631 and RS{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary}1589.

Approximately a year ago we altered the material of the levers from a 45 ton core case hardened material (SZN) to a 65 ton core case hardened material (SZNX), and in addition we increased the thickness from an average of .025 to an average of .045.

All the details which are obsolete show the early materials. We are making an alteration in case these parts are used again, so that the correct material with the correct depth of case hardening will be obtained.
