the throttle will open wide. I do not want this to be gradual, but distinctly a two stage springing, so that one can definitely fell when one arrives at the end of the first stage of opening.

Naturally there are other ways of doing this, but this appears to be the simplest for the moment.

(3) TOOL BAG AND TOOLS. Regarding the tool-bag, the leather bag with the rip fastener seems excellent, but I suggest that the tools should be sorted, and the special tools fitted in a tray under the seat of the car, and the general tools carried in the bag, as it is a slow sort of job sorting over so many tools to find say a plug spanner.

(4) CUTOUT. To me the cutout seems extremely satisfactory and a very nice thing to have fitted to a fast car. I think we should fit this to customer's wishes as an extra. Naturally something must be done to render the operation more convenient. I do not mind if a hand lever is fitted but if the foot is to operate it, it should be further forward, and long enough to reach through the mat. If there is any difficulty in fitting it, it could in the case of 4.Goshawk be temporarily lengthened and made suitable for hand operation, but it must not be in the way of the foot passing the central change lever.

(5) DASHBOARD LIGHTS. There are no dashboard lights fitted to 4.Goshawk. Two lights appear necessary, one to shew the oil pressure, and another to shew the water temperature, and ammeter.

(6) DYNAMO. Possibly this could be re-set for a larger output.

(7) PAINT. The burnt umber colour appeals to me as a useful colour for a country open car. The only alteration I can suggest is that it should be slightly darker, but neither more yellow or more red. You have already reported that this colour will darken after a few weeks of exposure to light.
