Small REF. ADM/83 DATE 26.3.34 AERO CARBURETTOR - II CIRCUIT. At the request of Mr. Hives, Mr. Lovesey was sent to HOYLES on 23/3/34 to witness a test on the AERO carburettor that was fitted to the engine which did not meet the Air Ministry requirements. Mr. Lovesey was informed that the carburettor was fitted with No.49 main jet, 1.0 Pilot Jet, and that the only alteration was that the diffuser tube holes had been blanked off. The engine was started up at 09.30, and on being warmed up was throttled down to about 1200 r.p.m. with an oil temperature of 30°C. The throttle was then opened up slowly when the engine accelerated cleanly until a speed of 2500 r.p.m. was reached. EXPERIMENTAL DEPT. END OF MESSAGE | ||
