X.2656 To Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} from Ck.{Mr Clark} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} CK{Mr Clark}10/T23.12.19. X.3644. RE 9/10 LB. BRUSH SPRINGS AND C.M.3 BRUSHES FOR X.374 STARTER MOTOR. YX.2656 With reference to your note Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}8/W19.12.19, this combination of springs and brushes has been fitted to chassis 2.EX for the 10,000 mile test. We are also making a pro-longed test of the combination on the bench as asked for by you verbally. We do not think at the moment we have enough experimental evidence to satisfy other people, but we will initiate a standardisation shwet for this as soon as we feel that the experimental evidence is sufficient. Regarding the second paragraph of your note, you will remember that we have already completed the standardisation of the stronger type springs with the C.M. type of brushes and I am taking it for granted that BY, has seen that these springs are now fitted to chassis.
