Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd.,
Derby.

Gentlemen,

For the attention of Mr. West.

Mr. Mundy has reported to the Writer the outcome of his conversation with Mr. West on Thursday last and we are very pleased indeed to learn that up to the present the type 850 plug is giving you satisfaction in the Bentley car.

We quite appreciate that point burning is apt to occur after considerable mileage and should very much like to take advantage of your offer to weld Stellite points on to some of the electrode blanks for these plugs. We are, therefore, sending you eight electrodes in blank form, together with a sketch showing you the finished form of the head. From this you will see that what we require is that you should weld a small lump of Stellite on to the centre of the blank head and that this lump should have a minimum heigh of 5/64", while its diameter must exceed .10.

As soon as we receive these from you we will immediately machine them up and send the completed plugs back for your test on the road.

At the same time we should like to take advantage of your offer to weld Stellite tips in a similar manner on to type 744 electrodes and we hope to despatch these blanks to you to-morrow.
