K.L.G. Sparking Plugs Limited CONTINUATION NO 1. DATE 26.11.34. Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd. With regard to the type 836 plug, Mr. Mundy has told us of your criticism as regards working voltage. This is a point which we have not ascertained accurately ourselves and we shall be very grateful indeed if you would let us know how this working voltage compares with that of, say, the V.7/1. We quite agree that this matter of voltage is now of first importance and that if this form of firing point is putting this at too high a figure it will have to be modified. However, on the other hand, you will appreciate that this form of flat head with no central projecting tip keeps much cooler than the orthodox design and may, therefore, give very considerable advantage in the matter of point burning. With regard to the 20/25 h.p. car and plugs for use when wireless suppressors are used in connection with them, we should very much like you to try our standard K.1 plug in this engine with the electrode shortened and fine platinum firing point incorporated. The Writer has been using plugs of this type in his "95" Talbot for the last five thousand miles and has formed a very high opinion of them. In the hope that you will be able to make this test we are, therefore, sending in the course of the next two days six K.1 plugs containing this modification. The Writer hopes to be able to come down to Derby in the very near future to discuss these various matters with you. Yours faithfully, p.p. K.L.G. SPARKING PLUGS LIMITED. Director. | ||
