6. The Cross Steering Tube is to be increased in section 50%, I consider 1.562 outside diameter, 12 SWG. to be satisfactory for this purpose.

7. Covers must be fitted on the Ball Joints, and Lubricators, also fitted. The stops on the axle should be arranged to take a maximum of 39° or failing this, at least 38° which should permit the operation of the brakes when on full lock. The 38° is effective in both directions, as Mr. Booth is modifying the side steering tube which will be 1 3/8" outside diameter and approximately 1/8" thick, and made in Nickel Steel.

8. Covers must be fitted over the Bending Moment Coil Springs referred to above to prevent them getting made up with dirt when they will become inoperative on the majority of the coils, and result in the spring breaking due to a deflection over the localised length.

9. The Aluminium Brake Cover is to be split in accordance with the practice which has been found best in the Experimental Dept. The position of the slot will be indicated to Danvers by RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}
