Spun Castings Ltd.,
Halesowen,
Birmingham.

For the attention of Mr. Williams.

Dear Sirs,

We have heard from Mr. Russell of Specialloid Ltd. that you have been developing an austenitic iron in which the nickel has been partially replaced by copper, thus reducing the cost.

We have been making some aluminium brake drums with steel or iron liners. We have tried various austenitic iron liners and these are satisfactory except for the cost which is rather high.

If your researches have progressed far enough for you to be willing to publish the facts about this new material, we should be very interested to hear from you.

We are,

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
