1020a Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 21st December, 1937. G.D. Robinson, Esq., The Associated Equipment Co.,Ltd., SOUTHALL, Middx. Dear Sir, With reference to your letter addressed to Mr. Devereux dated 14th December, we should very much like our Engineer who is specialising in bearings, to have the opportunity of discussing your main bearing problem with you before we actually supply the necessary castings. Our reason for this is because we know you are proposing to run these bearings in conjunction with lead bronze, but lead bronze requires so much more clearance than the R.R. alloy, with the result that it may not be altogether satisfactory. We shall be glad to know what date will be convenient for you to discuss the problem. Yours faithfully, For ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
