With regard to the radiator which you are scheming for Bentley III, we consider that a saving in cost could be effected by using a bottom water outlet inserted into the bottom tank in a similar manner to the top water pipe on Wraith III.

We are aware that the tank cannot be completely drained with this scheme, but have tested this out with the Continental radiator bottom tank which cannot be drained for a similar reason. The radiator was drained in a vertical position and left at a temperature of 20°F for about 15 hours - it was then allowed to thaw out and pressure tested - no leakage occured.

We should like to try out a simple ball valve type steam valve on B.III with a baffle arranged to protect it from surging.
