DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/G.28.9.37. [Handwritten] 200B [Illegible signature]/STD 111. BENTLEY/RADIATOR. [Handwritten] 440 Herewith are the following drawings :- FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}13, FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}18, FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}19 and FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}21. shewing the construction of the Bentley 111 radiator and mounting, with fixed grill. FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}13 shews the lower part of the radiator, but we wish to ignore the bottom water pipe and matrix mounting shewn there, and to substitute the simpler and cheaper scheme shewn on FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}21 until tests have proved the latter to be defective in any way. FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}18 shews the upper portion, and here again we wish to substitute the separate filler and top water pipe shewn on FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}21, partly because the pieces appear to be simpler and partly because the use of the thermostat may cause filling difficulties with the combined filler and top water pipe shewn on FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}18. On FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}18 is also shewn the proposed simplified steam valve with baffle, but as there may be some doubt as to its effectiveness we have also shewn how a P.111 steam valve can be filled if found necessary.
