Instructions for modifying an oil feed hole, tapping a new thread, and filling a metal cap with solder.

BY/SB.{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister}3/MS.8.3.39 (continued) (5) The existing oil hole in the top of the trunnion, and the metal cap, should be opened out and tapped 3.B.A, and the forward fixing screw for the metal cover replaced with a new screw in the altered position. The original tapped hole then forms the oil feed hole. (6) It is an advantage to fill up the back end of the metal cap with solder, as shown in drawing, so as to reduce the bulk of oil necessary to feed into the oil hole. BY/SB.{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister} | ||
