To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Rg.{Mr Rowledge} C.c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} X.2925 CONDOR VALVE SPRING WASHER (E.30837) We have looked into the question of strengthening up the above, as a consequence of your report, ref. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/VHl/LG23.11.27, but we do not think that there is any alteration we can make, as in this case it is not merely a question of the spring registering, but the coils have to work on the small diameter. At the same time we do not think there is much danger of the washers failing in general use, as we think this failure has been caused by very heavy bouncing of the valve. We do not think anything else could have caused the collars to have worked their way into the washer as the washer is particularly strong at the top. We do not propose to make any alteration unless you find further trouble on your tests. Rg.{Mr Rowledge} | ||
