Re Connecting Rod Oil Pipe Obstruction.

In reply to your Pt4/FM14.2.28, we have carefully examined the connecting rods and bushes you have returned and we attach hereto copy of report from our laboratory re the composition of the substance found in the pipes and grooves.

We would say at the outset that in the whole of our experience we cannot recall a single instance of a chassis engine of any sort having its oil pipe obstructed, and in every case we have always checked the clearness of the oil pipes by means of a syringe, and we are sure you will realise that this statement must apply to at least scores of thousands of oil pipes over a long period of time. This fact in itself makes it extremely difficult even to form an opinion as to the cause of the trouble you have experienced, especially in the case of GSK-10, where Price's oil is used and is changed frequently.

We will be interested to know if you have come across other cases, or whether in your experience, as in ours, this is an absolutely isolated case.
