X632 5.6.29. D.C. WIRING OF EXPERIMENTAL SHOP TO GIVE D.C. MOTOR SUPPLY AT VARIOUS POINTS IN THE SHOP NORMALLY OF 110 VOLTS FROM GENERATOR INSTALLED IN SHOP. N.B. The arrangement will be such that an alternative supply from either the Royce or B.T.H. generator is available via the experimental laboratory, and also that lower and higher voltages on the special third wire can be given therefrom for special purposes. There will be three conductors, two of 7/.080 or alternatively 19/.048, or 19/.052 called respectively S- and S+, and one of 7/.064 called Sv which will be repeated at three terminals on fixed terminal boards at a number of places as follows :- (1) In west corner of Mr. Lovesey's test house. (2) At a position in main shop where switchboards are at present situated. At this point the three wires leading from terminals of similar designation S- S+ and Sv in our electrical laboratory will be respectively connected via a triple pole switch to the three cables, so as to constitute one of the branch connections and enable the special voltage to be supplied on the Sv wire. (3) At a point in the middle of the south-east wall of the expl. garage in line with the north-east wall of the main expl. machine shop. (4) At a point on the north-east wall of each of the three test houses. In accordance with plan of Experimental Premises. Further to the above, the two main wires S- and S+ must be connected through to the generator switchboard in the east corner of Mr. Lovesey's test house where the generator will be situated. contd. | ||
