1280 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.3/JH. 26th February, 1938. Messrs. John Marstons Ltd., Wolverhampton. For the attention of Mr. Dunn. Dear Sirs, We have received your letter of 23rd. inst. from your Mr. F.A. Payne of your Accounts Dept. and have noted how the charge of 16/9d per reconditioned oil cooler is made up. The writer is emphatically not in agreement with this charge, since it was agreed between Mr. Dunn, Mr. Royce, Mr. Bailey (Our chief Engineer) and the writer (when Mr. Dunn visited our works and discussed the oil cooler reconditioning question generally) that the recondition should be F.O.C. in view of the defective soldering of all hand soldered coolers. It was subsequently agreed that R.R. Ltd. should pay the cost of the new tubes which we decided should be used instead of attempting to reclaim the old ones. However as this matter is really purely a finished one, the writer has handed it over to Mr. Royce who will no doubt get in touch with you. We would like to receive the radiator dummy shutter vanes (2 dozen which the writer had already requested verbally from Mr. Dunn - we will send you our official order when we receive these. With regard to the three scrap test blocks (84 m.m. Mark VI) which the writer brought back with him from Wolverhampton recently, we would be glad if you will delay invoicing these until | ||
