contd :- -2- We wish to point out that the centres of all the sliders and their guides have been pushed outward from the dimension scaling on the drawing by an amount of .075" to give more clearance between the pendulum lever and the servo shaft bearing housing, when the former is pushed over into engagement with the reverse slider. The centre of the interlock and its guide, has also been moved .150" rearwards from the scaling dimension to give clearance for the 1st. and 2nd. speed striking fork when this is engaging the bottom gear. The engaging teeth of interlock on the sliders naturally require moving rearward the same amount, but the lever operating the interlock is intended to be as shewn, there being sufficient room provided for the foregoing changed position of interlock slider. The casing, outer end of change speed shaft, gate, speedometer drive, 1st. and 2nd. speed striking fork, and flywheel casing, will follow shortly. We will recheck the assembling of this box as soon as the casing drawing is completed. A.J. Stent. | ||
