Dear Mr. Tresillian: BIJUR LUBRICATION Reference your memo 19.10.29. I think Mr. Olley in his memo of 14.11.29 answers pretty fully your queries 1,2,4, and 5. I give hereunder a description of the system as we are using it and cost of the parts. Bijur Lubricating System on Springfield Chassis 1. Pump is located on dash and feeds to mains, running down each side of chassis from front horn to rear shock absorber. - A-14168 - Dash Arrgt. 2. All points on engine fed from a line which crosses over from frame in neighborhood of R.H. rear engine foot. This line feeds - (a) Water Pump - uses special non return valve A-13573 in conjunction with straight through lubricator A-14608. From here the line passes to a floating junction point on the front end of the engine, built up of 3 Banjos clamped together, shown on A-10625. These feed - (b) Fan - See Arrgt. A-7829 - Fed through a #1 elbow. A-14614 - Note necessity of filling up the voids inside the spindle bearing to ensure flow of oil up to fan bearings when belt is stretched. (c) Distributor - See Arrgt. A-12324 - Feeds through #1 straight into distributor gear casing. (d) Generator - feeds to both end bearings of generator through #00 straight plug A-14604 in conjunction with special restricted elbow A-14761 - continued - | ||
