We did not get a report off to you yesterday owing to us leaving Châteauroux at 5.30 a.m. to carry out a full day's tests on the Montlhéry track. We arrived on the track at 9 a.m. and carried out tests until 7.30 in the evening. Results of these tests will be forwarded to you.

The Montlhéry track is considerably smaller than Brooklands, being 2.548 metres. The surface of the track is very good, in so much that there was no sign whatever of any steering joggles. This was most noticeable. There is only a small portion of the track which is straight and level, we should say quite 5/8 of the track is taken up by the two bends. The banking of these bends is considerably more than is the case with Brooklands. There is no covered accomodation on the track itself, but a series of garages are provided underneath the track, which can be obtained at the rate of Fcs. 20 per day. The petrol supply is of one brand only, i.e. ordinary petrol that is used in France. I took the precaution of taking a supply of commercial spirit with me, which became very useful.
The price for taking a car on the track is by the hour. We obtained a book of 10 tickets, each ticket representing one hour, the cost being Fcs. 200. This is the cheapest method of using the track for a day. We obtained data
