| No. 3. The following is a record of the experiments:- Car No. 2100. Condition | Result --- | --- (1) 2¾ springs, good condition shackles and pins. wheels balanced. Pivots inclined 1/64 | NO WOBBLES of any kind. (2) Do. Do. but wheels as sent from maker. | NO WOBBLES of any kind. (3) Do. Do. but with 4 oz. out-of-balance. | Exactly 30 m.p.h. Faint tugging at wheel, difficult to produce and detect (B wobbles.) (4) Do. Do. but with wheels 12 oz. out-of-balance. | The same but slightly more conspicuous. (5) Do. Do. but with wheels 1¼ lbs out-of-balance. | The same but now the wobbles could be distinguished easily, exactly at that speed. (6) 2" springs in 2¾ horns & shackles.
