No.4. Condition Result (7) Do. Do. but wheels 1 lb. out-of-balance. Faint tugging, as before. (B wobbles). NO "A" WOBBLES ON ANY OF THE ABOVE. (8) 24 springs as in (1) but pivots set back 1/20. Wheels balanced. Violent wobbles (A type) starting 10 m.p.h. and occurring at any speed up to 20 m.p.h. Conditions in all respects resembling those complained of. Please note that the wheels were BALANCED. (9) Do. Do. but wheels 1 lb. out-of-balance. Do. do. but wobbles more easily started and rather more violent. Practically impossible to drive car at low speeds. In experiments 6 and 7 the steering was not nice, tendency to pull round on corners and having a general feeling of instability. It was not very self-staraightening. I am now proceeding to find out at what pivot inclination the wobbles actually start. HOS Day 29/9/13 | ||
