Dear Sirs,
AERO MAGNETOS.
We thank you for your letter of the 1st instant and note your remarks on the subject of a centrifugal automatic advance.
We have been giving careful consideration to the question of increasing the range of advance which it is possible to obtain without the use of an automatic device and are carrying out preliminary work to enable us to test a modification which appears to offer possibilities of producing a magneto with a considerably increased range of advance.
The work will occupy some little time, but will be pushed forward as quickly as possible, and as soon as we are able to carry out tests we will advise you of the results which we hope will be such as to satisfy your requirements.
With regard to your suggestion of a magneto with fixed ignition, it does not appear that any appreciable reduction either in dimensions or weight could be made by eliminating the advance and retard mechanism, but we will give the matter consideration in detail.
Yours faithfully, ON BEHALF OF
NORTH & SONS, LTD.,
DIRECTOR
