X4021 To Rg.{Mr Rowledge} from EFC. EFC5/T6.12.27. WATFORD 12-CYLINDER AERO MAGNETO. Herewith we send you copy of a letter received from North & Sons, in answer to mine concerning increase of range and the possible production of a magneto with no range. Referring to their third paragraph I am surprised at their statement that it does not appear that any appreciable reduction either in dimensions or weight could be made by eliminating the advance and retard mechanism. Personally I should have thought that in the provision of such a magneto a considerable reduction of size and weight would result. They are perhaps thinking too much in terms of eliminating the advance and retard mechanism from the present magneto. EFC. | ||
