HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X.6105 To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to R.{Sir Henry Royce} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} W. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} re Car Work. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}4/E21.1.31 I have just been reading R2/M17.1.31 relative to the substitution of double battery ignition for our present arrangement of battery and magneto. In the last paragraph R.{Sir Henry Royce} suggests that this scheme should be adopted for the first L.H. chassis to be delivered, but I presume it is clear to all concerned that under our contract with the American Company for the supply of these chassis, this change cannot be made other than by a special request from them which would of course entail considerable delay.
