Can you let me know by return whether you or anyone at W. has mentioned to Mr. Fedden that you have a means of overcoming the rattle from the gear box when starting off from rest by fitting a new part. We believe you wrote a letter to him in June of which we do not appear to have a copy in our complaint files and should be glad of.

As the matter stands at present, Sir Stanley While of the same firm is complaining about the Bentley he took delivery of last week saying that he has heard from Mr. Fedden not only do we recognise that the rattle is a fault but that we have means for curing it which have been offered to Mr. Fedden. Could you let me have some information as to what has been said to Mr. Fedden by anyone at W. to give him this impression.
