To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. c. CJ. ORIGINAL EFC3/T14.11.23. X9960 X4410 X4338 X.9560 - WIRING OF GOSHAWK & E.A.C. CHASSIS. We thank you for your R8/M12.11.23 and note that it is preferred to keep the E.A.C. wiring system similar to the Goshawk. This being the case, there arises the old question of fuses, more particularly of the field circuit fuse. We have on one or two experimental cars fuse wire of one even finer gauge, namely, 32 S.W.G. in place of 30 S.W.G., the large fuse being three of these finer wires stranded together. (This was arranged on 6-EX which you have at present). We also have on several cars a field fuse of 40 S.W.G. which has in one instance saved a dynamo going out. So far we have found nothing wrong with this kind of fuse when everything else has been right on the system. The standard size is 30 S.W.G. - three strands for the emergency. This was arranged initially to be on the safe side. We are keeping careful records of the mileages of cars with these finer fuses. EFC. | ||
