November 1935 ------------------------- POSTAL ENQUIRIES --------------- Nil SHOWROOMS ENQUIRIES ----------------- Mme de Yturregui I telephoned to this lady but she was not well I will try to get in touch with her tomorrow. (Sr) Mr. Jeantet Called in to have news of his PH.III. He is anxious to have a proper trial run in this new model. I told him we would fix this up as soon as possible.(Sr) Mr. Benhaim to whom we have just delivered a Bentley car, B-73-EJ, has decided to dispose of this car for various reasons and buy an American car. One of these reasons is the apparent lack of acceleration as compared with certain American cars. Although we have tried to avoid this we have been unsuccessful. We have made arrangements for Messrs. Kellner to trade in the Bentley and sell him an American car which we understand will be a Pierce-Arrow. By this means the Bentley which is brand new will not be out of our hands and therefore the possibility of the second hand market being spoiled has thus been avoided.(Sr) Mr. Eddy Edmond Blanc Came in and was anxious to trade in his R.R. and Bentley against two Bentleys. This however is not possible owing to the fact that this gentleman has little or no funds to dispose of. However, during the course of the conversation I noted with interest his remarks concerning his brother's intentions of disposing of the Bentley and buying a Delahaye. Mr. Eddy Edmond Blanc is also thinking of trading in his cars and buying the improved type Bugatti. The point of interest is the fact that Delahaye and also Bugatti are now decidedly faster than our Bentley and this is especially noticeable on acceleration. (Sr) I am very much afraid that if we do not / something in the near future to improve | ||
