A.{Mr Adams} T. SPEEDOMETER CO., LTD. CONTINUATION. -2- Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd. 29th December, 1933. What we would like to suggest is that Mr. West, when next he is in London, goes over the testing of these instruments with us at Cricklewood. It may be that, as your tests are based on a constant temperature over a range of speeds, and our tests were based on a constant R.P.M. over a range of temperature, some difference in arriving at results is apt to creep in on either your tests or ours. We are absolutely confident that the instruments are far better than they were with the Nongro Compensation, but we do think it would be a good plan for a test to be carried out with you present. We believe that our apparatus at Cricklewood is the best on which to test and, if Mr. West could make it convenient to let us have the instruments back here, or bring them back with him when next he comes to London, we could carry out tests together. It must be extremely difficult for you to arrive at three figures of a decimal in determining the percentage error as shown on your schedules sent with your letter. We hope that these suggestions are quite agreeable to you, and awaiting your reply, We beg to remain, Yours faithfully, For THE A.T. SPEEDOMETER CO. LTD. H R Buckland Director. | ||
