Flap "A" (special 90º) must be free to turn through 180º, but with minimum clearance.

Lever "B" is a standard lever rivetted to spindle so that when flap is vertical (full open), lever is horizontal.

Lever "B" is held by spring C against lever "D" and follows D's movements.

Lever "D" is secured to a bush which floats on a pivot rivetted into the bracket, and is pulled in an anti-clockwise direction by spring "E".

Control lever "F" is secured to a bush and floats on the same pivot as "D", and is pulled in an anti-clockwise direction by spring "G".

Bracket "H" is the same as the standard bracket, but with end extended to form stops for lever "F".

When lever "F" is moved to the closed position it pushes lever "D" through 36º. Lever "B" follows "D" and the flap is then horizontal (closed).

Depression on the engine-side of carburetter will cause flap to open anti-clockwise against spring "C".

Back pressure from the engine will cause flap to open in a clockwise direction, lever "B" pulling lever "D" against spring "E".
